Is it a good idea to turn in ur resumes by mail, or directly? (I'm seeking a job for dental assisting)?

What do you think about the idea of mailing in resumes into dental offices, or is it better dropping them off "door-to-door" directly? Why or why not?

You should try www.craigslist.org or other websites to find open positions. If not, then you should just mail your resumes to the dental offices. I'm sure dentists are busy people, and they might not be too happy about someone dropping in unannounced trying to seek a job. Good luck!
Reply:do it in person..and make sure you're dressed properly. People like to see you in person and what you look like (people who don't dress well or are dirty will NOT get a call back or even spoken to.)
Reply:you should go in so they can put a picture to your face, if i got a resume in the mail I would probably glance at it.
Reply:Its better if you go in person make a day where you could go out and give out your resume, be confident. People like that.
Reply:Dental assistants are notoriously attractive. Dress nice and deliver in-person. Ask for the office manager.
Reply:I agree with Chrys...drop them in person and go well dressed. It will give them the chance to see you and it also gives the impression that you are serious and not just one of the "many numbers" who send in their resumes. You should also let them know you are dropping your resume, and you know how busy they are, but if anyone is willing to see you while you are here, you won't mind waiting to see them. You kill two birds with one stone and you increase you chance of getting that job from 10%-30% if you send it in, to 50-80% if you drop them in person. It is an unfair advantage over those who send thiers in but, it works in your favor. Good luck.
