What is the best way to relax in a dental office?

Use music on an MP3 player, count, pray, meditate, close your eyes and visualize something pleasant

What is the best way to relax in a dental office?
Valium
Reply:Shut your eyes and don't tense your muscles. Learn how to breathe through your nose and, if you need to, make sure your nose isn't congested before you go to the dentist.
Reply:Vodka tonic
Reply:If you're not given anything to take (like Valium or some such) - one thing that always seems to help me is thinking of songs in my head and going thru the lyrics (really gets my mind off of what the dentist is doing if I can't get the lyrics right) - another thing I do is focus on my breathing and the tenseness of my muscles - if they're tense, I force myself to relax

The biggest thing tho is to let your dentist know you're nervous or anxious - they can help by talking to you more, etc.

Good luck!
Reply:Get a good dentist. A good dentist will make you comfortable and less edgy. If that doesn't help know that going to the dentist for preventive care is better than going when you've let all your teeth rot out and you have to get them all pulled and some dentures. That should motivate you.
Reply:bY JUST SAYING TO YOURSELF IT WILL BE OK IF i HAVE CAVITIES THEY'LL BE ABLE TO FIX IT.
Reply:Just eat your thoughts.
