How can I find out if one in a dental office is a licensed dentist or has any complaints filed against them?

You can call 1-800-DENTIST or try FindaDentist.com

How can I find out if one in a dental office is a licensed dentist or has any complaints filed against them?
I would contact the AMA (American Medical Assoc.) or the DDT(Doctors of Dentistry). They should be able to give you all the information you need to make an informed decision.
Reply:u also can call the BBB BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, THEY'LL LET U KNOW OF COMPLAINTS
Reply:Check out the American Dental Association at the link in the source box below.

This will tell you what license they hold. As for complaints, you can contact the ADA as well, or perhaps the Better Business Bureau. I don't know if the ADA tracks those as closely as the AMA does.

Reply:You must be seriously bored or just a jerk who has nothing better to do than to harass a dentist. If you have a serious gripe please go get a lawyer. As for licensure check with Dental Board of your state. In California it's called the California Dental Board

Droogle is notorious for only getting the complaining patients like you.

The BBB has no dental autority.

1 800 Dentist is only an advertiseing firm and nothing else.

As for finding out previous complaints only a lawyer would be able to get that information since most settlements are sealed. Dont bother. I know of dentist who have had 3 -4 lawsuits all going at the same time and they are still making millions. Another guy in my home town had his licensed revoked for misconduct and I just saw a comecial on TV for his new state of the art modern practice yesterday.

If you are genuinely concerned for your own risk of treatment then its time to switch. If you think you've been wronged and want your treatment reviewed ask your local dental society for a peer review you may be able to get your work compensated, avoid lawyers and get on with your life ASAP.

Otherwise let it go.
