What do I wear if I work in a dental office?

It depends - would you be working in the front office? or as an assistant?

Most of the clinical staff will wear scrub pants and long-sleeved lab coats. Depending on the requirements of the State where you work (and the individual practice who may want matching attire), you usually must protect all areas of your skin from contact with blood and saliva.

That usually means high necks, long sleeves with cuffs, and either long pants or hose. Shoes must not be open toe sandals.

While working on patients, you must also have gloves, eye protection, and a disposable mask. These items are usually provided by the dentist.

Front office personnel may either wear matching attire, or professional looking clothing. Most dental practices want "classy" looking people to represent them to the patient. Good grooming is important - if you have multiple piercings or tattoos, either cover them or take them out.

Hope that answers your question.

Ask if you can wear scrubs like the dental assistants. That would be very easy
Reply:Scrubs are best. They are comfortable and you don't have to worry about messing up your good clothes.
Reply:You wear scrubs, but some dental offices are different. They might have you wear something nice that is not scrubs, but I doubt it tho.
