How long should you wait in a dental office??

My dentist takes FOREVER. Today I waited for 20 minutes to get in the chair and another 20 to see the dentist. It's always a rediculous amount of waiting.

How long should you wait in a dental office??
My dentist is really on time. I rarely wait more than a few minutes.
Reply:Sounds about right. They estimate the time they will be in with a patient. Sometimes it takes longer ( especially if they are talkitive). If you don't want to wait try getting the 1st appt of the day. That way you know they are still on schedule, unless of course they are late for work.
Reply:My dentist makes me wait about 30 to 45 mins its really annoying because its not like your waiting for something exciting, i mean its the dentist who wants to wait ages for that!
Reply:working at a dental office..honestly most dentists try to stay on time, and if they don't their employees try and keep them on track. (trust me we don't want to have to stay an extra hour at the end of the day for lack of time management) It depends on the size of their practice really and if their schedules are over booked. the larger the practice the more patients they have to attend to. not to mention that each room has to be cleaned and disinfected and then set up again after every single patient. Another question i guess would be...do you want the dentist to "hurry" when he or she is working in your mouth so they can hurry up and shuffle in someone else? probably not.
