Girl at dental office front desk said invisalign is very painful?

I am talking to my Dental office about braces and the front desk girl said she got them and had to quite using them because they were so painful. She said wire braces don't hurt as much and only the truly dedicated will stick it through with invisalign.


Is this true? I really only want invisalign because no one can see them and I could still talk and eat normally.





Did she just have a bad Ortho do it or something?

she is very right about only the dedicated can stick to the invisalign. As a matter of a fact she was probably one of the undedicated people who probably took it out much ofyen then it should have...which makes it hurt, because your teeth (in most case) are shifting position under braces and if you keep removing to to do things or because they are slightly uncomfortable, putting it back in will be painful. With wire braces, you dont have a choice and will garner better results for this reason. Dont be embarassed, whether they are clear or silver, you will still FEEL like you have braces, but a lot of peole get them. Just keep your gums and teeth very clean, because you will get stains if you dont....i see some situations like it....good luck
