What is the difference in dental office dentures or lab dentures?

my dental office wants to charge 1,400 just for upper dentures and i saw a comerical for uppers and lowers for 395.oo whats the difference.

Most dental offices do not make their own dentures- they take the impressions and send them to a lab with instructions on how the teeth are to be placed, what teeth are to be used and so on.





Many denture clinics use lesser quality materials and they usually advertise one day service- the dentures they produce are not typically as customized as ones ordered by a dentist. They are usually produced on a somewhat mass scale and only finished once they get the impressions.





The clinic may be charging X dollars for the appliance and there would be another fee to extract your teeth, your dentist may be quoting a finished product.





Some important questions to ask would be does the fee include relines and adjustments and if so, for how long?What will a permanent denture cost and when do they recommend that it be fitted? Also ask if the adjustments and relines are not included- how much are they?

Reply:There is a difference in types of dentures made by the dental offices which they have the dental lab make for their patients. The type of dentures has to do with the material used to make them with and the teeth used for the dentures too. You have to consult with your dentist and see which type they will make for you. The ones you may have seen in the commercial could be just a low price to get people into their offices and they did not explain which type the denture was. Some dental offices advertise their lowest price and when the patiet comes in then they explain that what you need is not the same price they advertised but a more costly price for your certain procedure. That's how they get new patients to come in to see them. It's up to you what you want to do but consult with your dentist 1st.
