You know this is the age where some dentists offer massages while you wait and have pretty bubbling fountains for you to look at and listen to. What are some other good ideas? Ideas such as a wall of CDs that you can choose from and listen to during procedures etc? What would make your trip to the dentist more enjoyable?
Cool dental office ideas?
emmalue, I pride myself on having a selection of CURRENT magazines so we don't have to suffer the jokes about old copies of National Geographic. I have accumulated tons of "one page" books like the Guniess Book or World Records and so on where there is not much to read in each article. If someone has to wait a couple of minutes, they won't be in the middle of some huge article or something.
If I keep someone waiting more than 15 minutes, I start to give their account a credit of a dollar a minute — unless they are someone who is chronically late on most occasions. They appreciate it and, if you think about it, it's cheaper than Starbucks cards.
Reply:My Dentist's office has collages (sp) from their different hygienists up on the walls that give you a peek into the hygienists' life; everything from family pix to recent vacation pix to tidbits %26amp; snippits of info about them. Gives the patient a little more awareness of who this person is that's currently got her hand in my mouth!
They also have small tv's mounted in each room.
Reply:We offer paraffin dip for your hands while you have your teeth cleaned. I know several offices where you can wear "Virtual movie glasses" and watch a DVD during treatment.
I like to keep a small refreshment bar with an assortment of teas and some bottled water.
The very best way we can keep our dental office unique is to get the patient in and out ON TIME. Patients usually don't even have time to pick up a magazine in our office - and if they do have to wait an unusual amount of time, they get a Starbuck's gift card.
Reply:The dental office I worked in until last Friday offers warm tea, coffee, cappuccino, bottled water, and ensure. They also offer pudding and jello for the patients to take with them after treatment.
